A Brouhaha in Hell's Kitchen

Tuesday night saw the series premiere of Brandon Cutrell's Broadway Brouhaha at Therapy, and the second week of Logan Hardcore's brash, high energy one "Woman" show at Vlada.

With the two shows both starting at the same time it was a balancing act for me to see both, but with the bars being one block away from each other it was easy to maneuver. First up Broadway Brouhaha, hosted by bubbly and sometimes snarky Brandon Cutrell ,who fresh from his 5th season of Broadway at the Beach and his ongoing Friday night Broadway After Party, brings us this upbeat and fast paced show to showcase the brightest Broadway talent along with newly discovered and undiscovered singers. With his chiseled good looks, silky smooth voice, quick witted banter and fantastic piano skills, Daniel Lincoln is perfect Co-Host for Mr. Cutrell. For a first show B'Way B'haha presented, Night Life Icon Kenny Holcomb, Kevin Chamberlin (currently playing Uncle Fester in The Adams Family the Musical), Gabrielle Stravellie, and Drag Staple Jason Cozmo who as Dolly Parton brought the house down with her raucous Best Little Whorehouse in Texas number. With DJ Chuck in the booth and Jody on cocktail service Tuesday nights at Therapy will be fun filled and I look forward to seeing what Brandon brings us this Winter.

Moving around the coroner to 51st Street Vlada is host to Logan Hardcore and her one "Woman" show. This BEYOND High Energy show starts off with free shots for the 5's of people waiting for her to get started, but with the mention of free booze the upstairs lounge where the show takes place quickly fills up and Logan Hardcore, 2009's Miss Fire Island Entertainer of the Year brings the crowd to their feet with her first number, and the ever present split into a double back flip round out handspring... or something like that. With special guest star Blackie O', Logan gives us Beyonce and Rhianna Realness, some great standby numbers that were perfected during her and Dallas Dubois Summer show at the Ice Palace and a few new numbers created just for this show. Logan is a consummate entertainer and will continue to give her audience NEW, FRESH, and EXCITING numbers, this winter should be exciting and I look forward to what's next.

All in all Tuesday nights in Hell's Kitchen will not be lacking in post theater entertainment, as well as the host bar's being great places to meet up, hang out, and chill.

There are some good shows and some possible train wrecks. We are also going to reivew Opera, Off Broadway, and some f the Drag Shows around town. We are also hoping to turn this Blog into a PodCast, but we will see how that turns out. Rhett and I are ready to hit the boards and let you know what the buzz is.
